Welcome to the Sheffield South City Learning Centre Blog.
There are 103 City Learning Centres (CLCs) located throughout the urban areas of the country, each with the remit to enhance teaching and learning through the creative and innovative use of technology. The first centres opened in 2000, with the others following over the next couple of years.
In Sheffield we have five centres, each serving a partnership of secondary, primary and, in some cases, special schools. Between them, every local authority school in the city is covered. Sheffield South City Learning Centre is based on the site of Newfield School in the south of the city. For an idea about possible projects we may undertake with our partnership schools, see here.
This blog will keep you up to date about Projects the CLC has been undertaking with our partnership. In addition I will be posting up information about useful resources for teaching and learning, using ICT. To find out specific information, you can enter a search term in the search box, or click on one of the tags on the right hand side (e.g. Literacy), and you will see all the posts relating to that tag. Make sure you click on the title of the post to see all the images, text and other media.

Any suggestions as to the content of the blog are welcome, as are comments on individual posts. This blog is updated by Catherine Elliott, Training Manager at SSCLC, celliott@ssclc.net.

I enjoyed looking at your web site. Here are two web sites that I use with my students: http://www.roythezebra.com and http://www.sitesalive.com Perhaps someone in your schools would have an interest in using these.
