Welcome to the Sheffield South City Learning Blog.
City Learning Centres (CLCs) were built throughout the urban areas of the country, each with the remit to enhance teaching and learning through the creative and innovative use of technology. The first centres opened in 2000, with the others following over the next couple of years.
In Sheffield, the CLCs have become part of the city council eLearning Team, with bases at CLC South and North. Sheffield South City Learning Centre is based on the site of Newfield School in the south of the city. For a navigable map of our location, click here. Our full address is:Sheffield South CLC Lees Hall Road Sheffield S8 9JP (0114) 2587728
This blog contains information about Projects the CLC has undertaken with Special Schools and other organisations. In addition there is information about useful resources for teaching and learning, using ICT. To find out specific information, you can enter a search term in the search box, or click on one of the tags on the right hand side (e.g. Literacy), and you will see all the posts relating to that tag. Make sure you click on the title of the post to see all the images, text and other media.
Please note: From September 2012 this blog will no longer be updated. For more information about the Sheffield ILS eLearning Team go to www.sheffieldclc.net. On this website, under Blogs, you will find a Special Schools Blog – this is where I’ll be posting information from now on.
